More Sophisticated System Preferences
System Preferences is the go-to option for any Mac user. Additionally, we hardly ever noticed major changes to Mac’s System Preferences. However, Apple has finally decided to spice up System Preferences through Ventura. Streamlining applications has become the motto with macOS 13.

Moreover, Passkeys will be an amazing feature for sign-in purposes. On-device authentication methods are easier with Apple’s Passkeys. You need not type a password in public. Instead, you can use Touch or Face ID to enter the respective website.
Apple is ensuring more users can use Passkeys even though they don’t use Apple devices. Currently, Apple is working with Google and Microsoft, other members of the FIDO Alliance. Therefore, users can utilise Passkeys on other devices while signing into websites.
Passkeys now sync among all the iCloud-enabled devices. This means that users don’t have to necessarily save their credentials on different devices to access Passkeys.
Freeform
This new feature will appear on iPad and Macs in 2022. Freeform will permit users to brainstorm or plan projects and share them with friends. Apart from sharing files and documents, you can share web links, video, audio, and much more for real-time collaboration.
Photos
Syncing between all your Apple devices has become more feasible. Like Messages updates, Photos updates hit iOS, iPadOS, and macOS. macOS 13 Ventura: Supported Mac Computers
macOS 13 Ventura will be free for all the compatible Mac computers in the market. It’s a free upgrade, but you need to keep in mind that it’s only for Apple-listed devices. Apple has included the following Macs for an upgrade to macOS Ventura from macOS Monterey:
- MacBook variants from 2017 and onwards
- Apple MacBook Pro models since 2017 or newer
- MacBook Air variants from 2018 or later
- iMac models since 2017 or later
- Apple iMac Pro (every model)
- Mac Mini models since 2018 or newer
- Mac Pro variants from 2019 or later
- All models from Mac Studio
This means that a handful of Mac devices have been discarded from the compatibility group. The following Mac computers will no longer support macOS 13 Ventura and will be stuck with macOS Monterey forever:
- MacBook models from 2016
- Apple MacBook Air variants from 2015 and 2017
- MacBook Pro from the 2015 and 2016 models
- Mac Pro models from 2013
- Apple Mac Mini from 2014
